Gavin was a lovely guy I remember him for school. We attended Macmillan College together in 1990. Its been many years since i saw Gavin we recently starting talking on facebook. He was beaten up which put him in hospital were sadly he died. My thoughts go out to all his family and his partner. What a sad loss to such a wonderful guy

My son Aaron died exactly the same way Gavin. Never thought before that just one punch could result in death. It took four days for Aaron to die but he hit his head so hard when he fell from the punch that he never had a chance.
I've just read today on the BBC news website that your family are petitioning for a tougher sentence for your killer. I would love to sign this petition.
Aaron's killer got 3.5 years and was out in 21 months and is now just as bad as ever from what we hear.
Put the petition on the internet as well, so many people will sign it.
Be safe and be happy Gavin, look out for my Aaron, you two will understand what it's like.

I offer my condolences to his friends and family at this sad passing. I have a friend who is now brain damaged after a beating and I know how easy I could have been creatind a site like this
